Opening of the exhibition "birika bezain elastikoa"

birika bezain elastikoa (elastic like a lung) is the exhibition created by Anna Irina Russell for this new edition of Situ-akzioak, with design collaboration by the IPI Karmengo Ama and Herrera Ikastetxea schools and a group of families. Situ-akzioak is a project that facilitates closeness to contemporary art from a number of perspectives. Acknowledging the essential role of play in learning and the aesthetic experience, the project moves away from more conventional forms of exhibition and provides other ways of interacting and learning in spaces dedicated to contemporary art.

In this public display, Anna Irina invites visitors to enter a soft and porous space, a dormant being that is transformed by the presence and movement of those who are inside it. With the help of a series of inflatable structures, the artist proposes a type of collective exploration in which our bodies become part of this being expands and contracts, weaving new meanings through play and imagination.
