Is San Sebastian, an open and cosmopolitan city, capable of designing a centre to house the different religions that live side by side in it? That’s the question setting the basis for profound reflection on the different confessions to be found in San Sebastian, coexistence between them and improved knowledge of one another. The objectives of the project are to: explore and address methods for the public management of religious diversity; create opportunities and spaces for fostering knowledge of the different confessions; and promote intercultural and interreligious dialogue founded on human rights. Baitara baita is a project of strong European flavour, since the fight against exclusion and cultivating the protection and promotion of cultural diversity is at the heart of the Europe 2020 strategy upheld by DSS2016EU.
