Le concours, Claire Simon, France, 2016, 121’
Aspiring filmmakers walk through the heavy door of the big school for the first and perhaps the last time. Everyone dreams of filmmaking, but also of success. All hopes are allowed, all anxieties too. Young people dream and doubt. The members of the jury question themselves and search for their heirs. From the arrival of the candidates to the deliberations of the juries, the film explores the confrontation between two generations and the difficult selection process organised by our contemporary societies.
