El espíritu de la colmena (Víctor Erice, Spain, 1973, 94')
In a small village in post-war Castilla, a married couple survives with their daughters, Isabel and Ana, two sisters aged eight and six. The arrival of a travelling cinema and the screening of James Whale's Doctor Frankenstein reveals to little Ana the existence of a new universe. The film makes such an impression on her that she keeps asking questions of her older sister, who assures her that the monster is alive and hiding near the village.
