Bizigarriak : zirkulazioa eta euforia. Bisita esperimentalak = Estimulantes : circulación y euforia. Visitas experimentales = Stimulants : circulation and euphoria. Experimental visits
These visits are intended to invite educators, scientists, biologists, historians, anthropologists, students… to open up new interpretations and add layers of meaning to the exhibitions. The idea is to bring about unexpected encounters in the halls to allow trips and tours that would not happen otherwise.
March 29: Oier Etxeberria, curator of the exhibition (Basque language)
We will kick off this new series of visits accompanied by Oier Etxeberria, curator of the exhibition and Head of Artistic Projects of Tabakalera. With him we will have the opportunity to know closely the work processes that are behind this exhibition.
April 26: Nora Olazabal, psichiatrist (Basque language)
Psychiatrist Nora Olazabal will depart from the thesis that drugs are more diverse than we think, and will raise the following questions: Can any substance that sets the brain network system working be considered a drug? What are the most commonly used drugs in the Basque Country? What is the response of the brain and body when such drugs are taken? What does experimental use mean? When can it be said that we have become dependent?
May 31: José Antonio Azpiazu, historian (Basque language)
Historian José Antonio Azpiazu will focus this visit on the history of Basques and its relationship with the trade of slaves.
