Thanks Jimi jaialdia Wroclawen

The Thanks Jimi festival was inaugurated on May 1st, 2016, in San Sebastian. That day, rock and Polish music had a special significance. Those elements were the bridge between both cultures, with gastronomy and language accompanying that peculiar union. All the citizens who wanted to were able to play Jimi Hendrix’s Hey Joe song with the citizens of Wroclaw, with huge screens enabling communication.

The Karbido band offered concerts by Polish singers and bands, accompanied by the Bente Kahan Male Instrumenty band. The contribution to the concerts by the Basque Geography were made by the Foxie Leires band and singer Joseba Irazoki. In addition to that, there were activities for children, workshops prepared by the Turukutupa company and the participants of the Txiki Rock concert.

On the other hand, the Food Think Tank Polish collective brought gastronomy to the festival, through the tasting sessions organised in the installed food trucks. The specific programme of the festival was the following: 10:00 - Karbido: The table performance-concert 10:00 - Workshop: creating instruments 11:00 - Male instrumenty. Itinerant concert: Alderdi Eder info point > Kursaal 11:00 - Bente Kahan. Itinerant concert: Boulevard bandstand > Kursaal 12:00 - Txiki Rock 12:45 - Karbido: The table. Concert + performance 13:00 - Bente Kahan. Itinerant concert: Boulevard bandstand > Kursaal 14:15 - Púa de oro 15:00 - Guitarist encounter 16:00 - Live connection ‘Hey Joe’ 16:30 - Foxie Leires: Jimi Hendrix tribute 17:45 - Male instrumenty. Itinerant concert: Alderdi Eder info point > Kursaal 18:45 - Joseba Irazoki and friends 20:00 - Neony (Poland). Dance-rock concert.
