Being always alert to our surroundings, watching and interpreting things as we have learned to do, is hard work. There are moments of distraction where we take a step back and break with that agreed logic. Thus, by distracting ourselves, we take a moment’s rest from the attention we pay to life and we can play at making new connections and relationships between ideas, giving them a different life. Like when we laugh. Or when we paint.
